As a Christian for thirty years, I had no reason to disbelieve the trinity; I even lead ex-Jehovah Witnesses to the trinity doctrine myself just prior to my conversion to repentance of the Torah through Messiah. I had believed so firmly that Messiah had existed from the beginning and came to us in the form of a human being. As I've been convinced otherwise with what appear facts, I'm humbled that I could have followed so blindly a belief that now seems so contrived.
This document is by no means pretty, complete, organized, or even remotely close to being finished, but I do hope you will find this draft at least a little challenging:
THE FRACTURES IN THE DOCTRINE
While I was never open to consider that the trinity belief may have some issues in the scriptures, and while researching if Christianity is connected to the apostles of Messiah, I stumbled across a few documents which challenged the trinity taught to me at church:
The few documents I found revealing a non-trinity Eloah (the singular God) was in:
1. Arianism - Wikipedia:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arianism, the non-trinity belief of the early believers."Arianism is a nontrinitarian Christological doctrine which asserts the belief that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who was begotten by God the Father at a point in time, a creature distinct from the Father and is therefore subordinate to him, but the Son is also God (i.e. God the Son). Arian teachings were first attributed to Arius (c. AD 256–336), a Christian presbyter in Alexandria of Egypt. The teachings of Arius and his supporters were opposed to the theological views held by Homoousian Christians, regarding the nature of the Trinity and the nature of Christ. The Arian concept of Christ is based on the belief that the Son of God did not always exist but was begotten within time by God the Father." Arianism - Wikipedia
2. THE EBIONITE JEWISH SECT DENIED THE VIRGIN BIRTH
Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ebionites, lead by Ya'aqob (or James) the just, brother of Messiah; a group not subscribing to the virgin birth. References to Ya'aqob being as such are also referenced in Arianism - Wikipedia.
3. GOSPEL OF THE NAZARENES
Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gospel_of_the_Nazarenes, which was one of the variant names used for the book of Matthew before it was anonymously translated to Greek. This document also reveals many changes to the gospel we have today which were not in the original Hebrew language.
According to "The Gospel of the Nazarenes" on Wikipedia, the original gospel of Matthew wasn't written in Greek, neither is the translator known according to Jerome, and neither did it have the name we know it by today. It is either one of these various names, "Gospel of the Nazarenes", "Gospel of the Hebrews", or "Gospel of the Ebionites." Also in the Wiki article, there are many changes or inconsistencies with the original compared to the gospel of Matthew that we have today. Of those variances I will now list:
The following list represents variant readings found in Gospel of the Nazarenes against the canonical Gospel of Matthew: Where Ehrman's order corresponds to the Schneemelcher numbering "(GN 2)" etc., is added for clarity:
[Notes: Though most of the following list does not apply to trinity doctrine, I've added them for your benefit, so as to see how very different the original is from the canon we have today of Matthew. Now because of the differences doesn't mean they didn't happen, or did, but that we should simply consider if everything added or changed is true, since there are changes. Please note the references begin in Matthew chapter 3, not chapter 1 or 2. I read someplace that nearly the entire two chapters were not in the original, though a citation is needed to confirm this.]
(GN 2) In Matthew 3, it reads: "Behold, the mother of the Lord and his brethren said to him, 'John the Baptist is baptizing unto the remission of sins; let us go and be baptized by him.' But He said to them, 'Wherein have I sinned that I should go and be baptized by him? Unless what I have just said is (a sin of?) ignorance.'"(Jerome, Against Pelagius 3.2")
(GN 3) Matthew 4:5 has not "into the holy city" but "to Jerusalem."
(GN 4) Matthew 5:22 lacks the phrase "without a cause" as in 67 א B 2174, some vgmss, some ethmss
(GN 5) Matthew 6:11 reads, "Give us today our bread for tomorrow." (Jerome, Commentary on Matthew 6:11)
(GN 6) Matthew 7:23 adds, "If ye be in my bosom, but do not the will of my Father in heaven, out of my bosom I will cast you." Compare with noncanonical 2 Clement 2:15.
(GN 7) Matthew 10:16 has "wise more than serpents" rather than "wise as serpents."
(GN 23) On Matthew 10:34-36, the Syriac translation of Eusebius' Theophania contains: 'He (Christ) himself taught the reason for the separations of souls that take place in houses, as we have found somewhere in the Gospel that is spread abroad among the Jews in the Hebrew tongue, in which it is said, "I choose for myself the most worthy; the most worthy are those whom my Father in heaven has given me."' (Eusebius, Theophania, Syriac translation 4.12)
(GN 8) Matthew 11:12 reads "is plundered" instead of "suffers violence."
(GN 9) Matthew 11:25 has "I thank thee" rather than "I praise you."
(GN 10) At Matthew 12:10-13, the man who had the withered hand is described as a mason who pleaded for help in the following words: "I was a mason seeking a livelihood with my hands. I beseech thee, Jesus, to restore me to my health, that I may not in shame have to beg for my food." (Jerome, Commentary on Matthew 12:13)
(GN 11) Matthew 12:40 omits "three days and three nights" immediately preceding "in the heart of the earth."
(GN 12) Matthew 15:5 reads, "It is a korban (offering) by which ye may be profited by me." Compare Mark 7:11.
(GN 13) Matthew 16:2b–3 omitted, as in א B V X Y Γ Uncial 047 2 34 39 44 84 151 157 180 194 272 274 344 376 539 563 595 661 776 777 788 792 826 828 1073 1074 1076 1078 1080 1216 2542 syrcur syrs copsa copbomss arm _f_13 Origen.
(GN 14) Matthew 16:17 has Hebrew "Shimon ben Yochanan" (Simon son of John) instead of Aramaic "Simon Bar-Jonah" (Simon son of Jonah).
(GN 15) At Matthew 18:21-22, Jesus is recorded as having said: "If your brother has sinned by word, and has made three reparations, receive him seven times in a day." Simon his disciple said to him, "Seven times in a day?" The Lord answered, saying to him, "Yea, I say unto thee, until seventy times seven times. For in the Prophets also, after they were anointed with the Holy Spirit, a word of sin was found.(Jerome, Against Pelagius 3.2)
(GN 16) At Matthew 19:16-24, Origen, in his Commentary on Matthew, records there having been two rich men who approached Jesus along the way. Origen records that the second rich man asked Jesus, "Rabbi, what good thing can I do that I may live?" He (Jesus) said to him, "Man, fulfill the Law and the Prophets." He answered him, "I have done (so)." Jesus said, "Go, sell all that you have, and distribute to the poor; and come, follow me." But the rich man began to fidget (some copies read, 'began to scratch his head'), for it did not please him. And the Lord said to him, "How can you say, 'I have fulfilled the Law and the Prophets', when it is written in the Law: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself', and many of your brothers, sons of Abraham, are covered with filth, dying of hunger, and your house is full of many good things, none of which goes out to them?" And he (Jesus) turned and said to Simon his disciple, who was sitting by him, "Simon son of John, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for the rich to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven."(Origen, Commentary on Matthew 19:16-30)
(GN 17) At Matthew 21:12, Jerome records, "For a certain fiery and starry light shone from His eyes, and the majesty of the Godhead gleamed in His face."[34] Also, there is quoted in a marginal note of a thirteenth-century manuscript of the Aurora by Peter of Riga the following: "Rays issued forth from His eyes which terrified them and put them to flight."
(GN 18) Matthew 23:35 reads "Zechariah, the son of Jehoiada" instead of "Zechariah, the son of Barachiah."(Jerome, Commentary on Matthew 23:35)
(GN 19) Matthew 26:74 has, "And he denied, and he swore (i.e., took an oath), and he cursed (i.e., forswore)."
(GN 21) Matthew 27:51 states not that the veil of the temple was rent, but that the lintel of the temple of wondrous size collapsed.(Jerome, Letter to Hedibia 120.8)
(GN 22) Matthew 27:65 reads, "And he (Pilate) delivered to them (the chief priests and the Pharisees) armed men, that they might sit over against the tomb and guard it day and night."
GN 4, 6, 15a, 19, 22 come from the 'Zion Gospel Edition', the subscriptions of thirty-six Gospel manuscripts dating from the 9th to the 13th centuries.
GN 24-36 (not listed) are derived from medieval sources.
4. THE JOHANNINE COMMA OF 1ST JOHN 1:6-8
Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johannine_comma, exposes that most of verse 7 of 1st John 5:6-8 is a gloss note added in error, and not scriptural: "…in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 8 And there are three that beare witnesse in earth..." was added and the KJV to this day still remains corrupted.
In the Johannine Comma mentioned above, I was also able to compare findings against the Armenian's East Orthodox bible here: https://www.armenianchurchlibrary.com/files/easternarmenianbible/John1.html under section 5, verse 6 through 8, which using http://translate.google.com gives me the following english:
"(6) This is he that came by water, and by the Spirit, and Jesus Christ. not only with water, but also with bleeding and water. (7) It is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. (8) These three signify the Spirit, the water, and the blood together. and three are one in the testimony;"
Why would the Armenian Orthodox translation be of any concern?
According to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armenian_Apostolic_Church the Armenian bible came to be translated in the 5th century by Saint Mesrop Mashtots. Earlier translations help us understand more on where the changes came to be made to scriptures.
5. FELONY FORGERY OF 1ST TIMOTHY 3:16
Based on the evidence presented here at: http://www.biblebookprofiler.com/The_Forgery_of_I_Timothy_3_16.html, it's absolute forgery what was done to 1st Timothy 3:16.
1 Timothy 3:16 KJV And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
1st Timothy 3:16 BIB Καὶ (And) ὁμολογουμένως (confessedly), μέγα (great) ἐστὶν (is) τὸ (the) τῆς (-) εὐσεβείας (of godliness) μυστήριον (mystery): Ὃς (Who) ἐφανερώθη (was revealed) ἐν (in) σαρκί (the flesh), ἐδικαιώθη (was justified) ἐν (in) πνεύματι (the Spirit), ὤφθη (was seen) ἀγγέλοις (by angels), ἐκηρύχθη (was proclaimed) ἐν (among) ἔθνεσιν (the nations), ἐπιστεύθη (was believed on) ἐν (in) κόσμῳ (the world), ἀνελήμφθη (was taken up) ἐν (in) δόξῃ (glory).
As you can see from the Berean Interlinear Bible (BIB) from above, that Ὃς is used which means "who". However in the KJV, and many others, θεός or "God" was put in its place.
Sir Isaac Newton, the famous mathematician contended, in his book titled "An Historical Account of Two Notable Corruptions of Scripture", that both 1st Timothy 3:16 and 1st John 5:6-8 are not based on original Greek manuscripts.
"Newton contends that the original Greek was or ὅ (which), changed to ὃς (who) and then to θεός (God) (see p. 230 and p. 232 "Chrysostom, I am satisfied that he read ὅ", p.234 Nestorius, p.237 John Cassian, and pp. 252–253 "it is more reasonable to lay the fault on the Greeks... in the Greek the sense was obscure; in the versions clear" - An Historical Account of Two Notable Corruptions of Scripture - Wikipedia
In the WEB or World English Bible, there's a note on 1st Timothy 3:16 which says ...
"3:16 NU replaces "God" with "who",
... which would explain why ABP interlinear and other translations have θεός "God" or Theos in place of ὅ (which) or at best Ὃς (who). I don't know much about the "NU" authority at this time, but if time permits, I would think it wise to research what other scriptures they have modified.
As with some of the points made at the link above: http://www.biblebookprofiler.com/The_Forgery_of_I_Timothy_3_16.html, does the verse itself make any sense, if "God" were the correct word?
1 Timothy 3:16 KJV And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
The scriptures say that the word (or torah) became flesh, John 1:14, not God.
How is God justified by the Spirit? Isn't God already perfect? Who justifies God?
Romans 3:30 TS2009 since it is one Elohim who shall declare right the circumcised by belief and the uncircumcised through belief. - Have angels seen God? It says no man has seen God in John 1:18, and 1st John 4:12 - Received up into glory? If God is God, why would He need to be received?
6. PRAYS TO THE FATHER, NOT HIMSELF
Matthew 6:6, 9, Luke 11:2, TS2009 “But you, when you pray, go into your room, and having shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place. And your Father who sees in secret shall reward you openly.
If Messiah is Elohim (God), why did He command the deciples to pray to the Father instead of Himself?
Matthew 26:53 TS2009 “Or do you think that I am not able to pray to My Father now, and He shall provide Me with more than twelve legions of messengers?
Surely if Messiah were Elohim, then He wouldn't need to pray to the Father for the twelve legions of messengers..
John 14:16 TS2009 “And I shall ask the Father, and He shall give you another Helper, to stay with you forever –
John 16:26 TS2009 “In that day you shall ask in My Name, and I do not say to you that I shall pray the Father on your behalf
7. MESSIAH DOES NOT KNOW THE TIME OF THE END
Matthew 24:36 TS2009 “But concerning that day and the hour no one knows, not even the messengers of the heavens, but My Father only.h Footnote: h Mar_13:32
Why if Messiah is Elohim, does Elohim not know the time of the end?
8. IF MESSIAH CAN BE CALLED ELOHIM, THEN CATHOLICS WOULD BE CORRECT FOR WORSHIPING MARY
Because if Messiah is truly Elohim (God), that would mean that Elohim has a mother. If Elohim has a mother, then Elohim can no longer be Elohim, because having a mother indicates that He was not first and last as scriptures say:
Revelation 22:13 TS2009 “I am the ‘Aleph’ and the ‘Taw’, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.
To then suppose that Mary is the mother of Elohim (God) would then endorse the "Queen of Heaven" worship that was forbidden by Elohim.
Jeremiah 7:18 TS2009 “The children are gathering wood, the fathers are lighting the fire, and the women are kneading their dough, to make cakes for the sovereigness [or queen] of the heavens, and to pour out drink offerings to other mighty ones, to provoke Me.
The trinity doctrine promotes idolatry, Exodus 20:3-6, and raises more divisions than answers.
9. MESSIAH HAD TO BE LIKENED TO HIS BROTHERS IN EVERY WAY
Hebrews 2:14-18 TS2009 Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself similarly shared in the same, so that by means of His death He might destroy him having the power of death, that is, the devil, 15. and deliver those who throughout life were held in slavery by fear of death. 16. For, doubtless, He does not take hold of messengers, but He does take hold of the seed of Abraham.c Footnote: cSee Isa_41:8-9. 17. So in every way He had to be made like His brothers, in order to become a compassionate and trustworthy High Priest in matters related to Elohim, to make atonement for the sins of the people. 18. For in what He had suffered, Himself being tried, He is able to help those who are tried.
Deuteronomy 18:15-19 TS2009 “יהוה your Elohim shall raise up for you a Prophet b like me from your midst, from your brothers. Listen to Him, Footnote: bSee footnote at Deu_18:18. 16. according to all you asked of יהוה your Elohim in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, ‘Let me not hear again the voice of יהוה my Elohim, nor let me see this great fire any more, lest I die.’ 17. “And יהוה said to me, ‘What they have spoken is good. 18. I shall raise up for them a Prophet c like you out of the midst of their brothers. And I shall put My Words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him. Footnote: cSee also Act_3:22-26, and Act_7:37. 19. And it shall be, the man who does not listen to My Words which He speaks in My Name, I require it of him.
10. IS ELOHIM (GOD) TEMPTED?
Hebrews 4:15 TS2009 For we do not have a High Priest unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who was tried [or tempted] in all respects as we are, apart from sin.Matthew 4:1-4 Then יהושע was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tried [tempted] by the devil.
Matthew 4:1-4 Then יהושע was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tried [tempted] by the devil.
Is Elohim lead by the Spirit? Is the Spirit above Elohim?
Matthew 4:2 And after having fasted forty days and forty nights, He was hungry.
Does Elohim get hungry?
Numbers 23:19 TS2009 "El is not a man, to lie; nor a son of man, to repent! Has He said, and would He not do it; or spoken, and would not confirm it? Matthew 4:3 And the trier came and said to Him, “If You are the Son of Elohim, command that these stones become bread.” Matthew 4:4 But He answering, said, “It has been written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of יהוה.’ ” Deu_8:3.
John 7:16 יהושע answered them and said, “My teaching is not Mine, but His who sent Me.b Footnote: bיהושע says this in seven places in the Book of John: Joh_3:34, Joh_7:16, Joh_8:28, Joh_8:40, Joh_12:49, Joh_14:24, Joh_17:8. See also Deu_18:15-20.
Does Elohim stay alive by His own words?
James 1:13 TS2009 Let no one say when he is enticed, “I am enticed by Elohim,” for Elohim is not enticed by evil matters, and He entices no one.
If Elohim is not enticed (or tempted), by evil matters, then what sort of test would this be to Elohim, being He can't be tempted, and what would the devil be doing tempted Elohim?
When the passover lambs were chosen for the sacrifice, they had to be spotless:
Exodus 12:5 TS2009 ‘Let the lamb be a perfect one, a year old male. Take it from the sheep or from the goats.
If there was no way for a lamb to be blemished, then why would a command of "spotless" be given? Speaking as a man, if the lamb could have spots or blemishes, then so could have Messiah chosen to transgress the Torah (or commands) of Elohim, but He was faithful unto death. He was tried, and proven, but did not sin:
1 Peter 1:19-20 TS2009 but with the precious blood of Messiah, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless,
11. FOREKNOWN, BUT MANIFEST IN LAST TIMES
1 Peter 1:20 TS2009 foreknown, indeed, before the foundation of the world, but manifested [or fulfilled of prophecy] in these last times for your sakes,
12. CAN ELOHIM DIE?
Mark 15:34-35 TS2009 And at the ninth hour יהושע cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Ěli, Ěli, lamah sheḇaqtani?”a which is translated, “My El, My El, why have You forsaken Me?” Psa_22:1. Footnote: aIn Hebrew - “Eli, Eli lamah aza?tani” - as per Psa_22:1. 35. And some of those standing by, when they heard it, said, “See, He is calling for Eliyahu!”
It appears here that Messiah died as a man, being forsaken by the Father.
If Elohim can die, then Who exactly will raise Elohim from the dead? And if Elohim can die, then how can He be Elohim?
13. HOW DIFFERENT JOHN 1:1-5 READ IN 1560 A.D.
John 1:1-5 GENEVA In the beginning was that Word, and that Word was with God, and that Word was God. 2. This same was in the beginning with God. 3. All things were made by IT and without IT was made nothing that was made. 4. In IT was life, and that life was the light of men. 5. And that light shineth in the darkenesse, and the darkenesse comprehended IT not.
Other translations like GREAT, BISHOPS, MATTHEW, and TYNDALE confirm the same, referring to the word as "IT" rather than a personification as "He".
14. WISDOM AND TORAH WERE PERSONIFIED
Proverbs 8:22-36 TS2009 “יהוה possessed me, The beginning of His way, As the first of His works of old. 23. “I was set up ages ago, at the first, Before the earth ever was. 24. “When there were no depths I was brought forth, When there were no springs heavy with water. 25. “Before mountains were sunk, Before the hills, I was brought forth, 26. “Before He had made the earth and the fields, Or the first dust of the world. 27. “When He prepared the heavens, I was there, When He inscribed a circle on the face of the deep, 28. “When He set the clouds above, When He made the fountains of the deep strong, 29. “When He gave to the sea its law, So that the waters would not transgress His mouth, When He inscribed the foundations of the earth, 30. “Then I was beside Him, a master workman, And I was His delight, day by day Rejoicing before Him all the time, 31. “Rejoicing in the world, His earth; And my delights were with the sons of men. 32. “And now, listen to me, you children, For blessed are they who guard my ways. 33. “Listen to discipline and become wise, And do not refuse it. 34. “Blessed is the man who listens to me, Watching daily at my gates, Waiting at the posts of my doors. 35. “For whoever finds me shall find life, And obtain favour from יהוה, 36. “But he who sins against me injures himself; All who hate me love death!”
Proverbs 13:14 TS2009 The Torah of the wise is a fountain of life, Turning one away from the snares of death.
You may notice that "my and he" in Proverbs 8 is personification of wisdom or the torah of Elohim.
Proverbs 3:13-16 TS2009 Blessed is the man who has found wisdom, And the man who gets understanding; 14. For the gain from it is better Than gain from silver, And its increase than fine gold. 15. She is more precious than rubies, And all your delights are not comparable to her. 16. Length of days is in her right hand, Riches and esteem in her left hand.
15. WE ARE ALL ELOHIM
John 10:34 יהושע answered them, “Is it not written in your own Torah, ‘I said, “You are elohim” ’? Psa_82:6.
Psalms 82:6-8 TS2009 I, I said, “You are elohim, And all of you are sons of the Most High." 7 "But as men you die, And fall as one of the heads." 8 Arise, O Elohim, judge the earth, For You shall possess all the nations."
To make the Messiah as Elohim, when He is a Son, as we are also sons if we obey the Father's commandments, is suggesting that we are not sons ourselves:
Galatians 3:26-27 TS2009 For you are all sons of Elohim through belief in Messiah יהושע. 27. For as many of you as were immersed into Messiah have put on Messiah.
16. POSSIBLE EXPLANATION FOR THE MATTHEW CHAPTER ONE ACCOUNT OF THE VIRGIN BIRTH NARRATIVE
Recently, I had the blessing of witnessing to some modern day Jews who reject the Messiah for many reasons, but the main reason they reject Messiah, is that they claim that Messiah is not of the line of Yehudah, of the line of Dawid.
However, in Matthew 1:1-17, though it seems not present in the original Hebrew of Matthew, the genealogy of Messiah seems biblical and as well through the line of Dawid.
Where the hangup seems to be is over the virgin birth, which I believe was added. If Yoseph (or Joseph) is not the physical father of Messiah, then He's not of the tribe of Yehudah (or Judah), nor of the house of Dawid as the scriptures prophesy:
Genesis 49:8-12 TS2009 “You, Yehuḏah, your brothers praise you; your hand is on the neck of your enemies; your father’s children bow down before you. 9. “Yehuḏah is a lion’s cub; from the prey you have gone up, my son! He bowed down, he crouched like a lion. And like a lion, who does rouse him? 10. “The sceptre shall not turn aside from Yehuḏah, nor an Inscriber from between his feet, until Shiloh comes, and to Him is the obedience of peoples. 11. “Binding his donkey to the vine, and his donkey’s colt to the choice vine, he washed his garments in wine, and his robes in the blood of grapes. 12. “His eyes are darker than wine, and his teeth whiter than milk.
Quoting from a Jew who rejects Messiah:
"J-s didn't have this genealogy, he didn't have a birth father from the Tribe of Judah, in the line from King David and Solomon, nor Jeconiah. He had a virgin birth according to Matthew and Luke. And even if he didn't have a virgin birth neither genealogy in Matthew 1 or Luke 3 can produce a King to be the Messiah. In Luke 3 the genealogy doesn't go through Solomon as required and in Matthew 1 the genealogy is rejected because it goes through Jeconiah. 2nd Samuel 7:12-14, 1st Chronicles 17:11-14, 22:9-10, 28:4-6, Jeremiah 22:30, 36:30.."
Quoting from another Jew who also rejects the Messiah:
"The Messiah must be from the Tribe of Judah and a Descendant of King David AND King Solomon, not Jeconiah, through his human biological father. Genesis 49:10, 2nd Samuel 7:12-14, 1st Chronicles 17:11-14, 22:9-10, 28:4-6, Jeremiah 23:5, 33:17; Jeremiah 22:30, 36:30, Psalm 89:35-37. Genealogy in the Bible is only passed down from father to son Numbers 1:1-18."
So the above quotes from the Jews have a valid point regarding Jechoniah, because he was rejected in Jeremiah 22:24-30. As well, he would be childless. However, in Deuteronomy 3:17-18, there are seven sons listed down. In 2nd Kings 25:27-28, Merodak sovereign of Babel released Yehoyakin (Jochoniah) and spoke kindly of him. Jeremiah 22:24-30 said he wouldn't prosper nor have sons, but these events don't come to past. In Haggai 2:23, Elohim declares Zerubbabel a servant, as a signet. This leaves a person assuming that Yehoyakin (or Jechoniah) repented while he was in exile, and the curse lifted. Zechariah 4:6-10 confirms this as well.
"I accepted the repentance of Jeconiah: shall I not accept your repentance? -Pesikta de-Rab Kahan (5th c.)
So the Matthew 1 genealogy can be used as the virgin birth doctrine gets removed.
I believe that the virgin birth account following the genealogy in Matthew 1 was added because of the Jeconiah case, thereby reverting one to go against the grain by using the genealogy of Miryam.
CONCLUSION
That's all I have for the moment. As research progresses, we find more values to consider and to thoroughly make sense of. We know that the ways of the Master are clean and simple.
While I believe that the original scriptures were inspired by Elohim, I don't trust some scriptures that are well documented to be added.
If a messenger brought you a report from a trustable source, and then immediately pulled out a pen to cross off and add sections right before your eyes, would you still believe the document to be authentic? May we also consider that almost two thousand years have passed since the apostles and the word of Elohim indeed needs verifying.
Today there are countless atheists who will not subscribe to Christianity, many Jews, and many Muslims. Why would they subscribe to a religion that seems more pagan than true? Surely, a reasonable person would want a truth that is verifiable, makes sense, and doesn't conflict with other parts of scripture. I believe if we get the facts right, more people would turn to Elohim's commands through Messiah's atonement at the stake.
May we turn to Elohim with a whole heart and give our up-most attention to studying for facts rather than a hybrid religion of fairy tales.
